		Ordering & Payment.  (card payments are processed via the Google checkout system) Prices are firm. Items are sold on a first come first served basis. Stock availability is updated automatically via the checkout procedure.  Prices are in  pounds sterling (GBP). Items can be paid for with a debit / credit card via the automated shopping cart / checkout procedure. If you prefer items can be reserved by email or phone and payment made by sterling cheque, UK postal order, sterling bank drafts,  (Payable to: "North East Medals")

Within the UK: Recorded post  £2.50  (for orders £40 or less )
Within the UK: Special delivery  £5.60
Overseas; £8.50 for insured '"signed for" airmail for the first item, then £0.50 for each additional item up to a maximum of £12.50
Note; overseas insurance is a maximum of £500.
(Memorial plaques, books, etc. may incur an additional charge)

Shipping normally occurs within 24 hours, except Saturdays and Sundays. Anything purchased over the weekend is posted on Monday. When we log an item as despatched within our shopping cart system you receive an automatic email to say it has been despatched. UK: Items posted by Special Delivery (orders over £40) normally arrive next working day, and will require a signature.  "Signed for" shipments (under £40) travel as 1st class mail frequently arriving within two days, but we have known this to take 4 days on rare occasions- these also require a signature.

Overseas shipments are posted via Air Mail International Signed for, insured for package value up to £500. Delivery times are variable, but frequently items arrive within 28 days.  Customs charges are the purchasers responsibility.

If an order cannot be despatched on the same, or the next working day we will notify you.

Returns
All your usual rights under the Consumer Protection Act 1987 (or the sections of that act recently replaced by  "The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Practice Regulations 2008"), and the Distance Selling Regulations obviously apply by law.
In addition items can be returned later if found to be not as described. If you are returning an item please contact us immediately. Items must be returned promptly, not have been offered for resale and returned in the condition you received them. If you clean it, re-ribbon or alter it in any way we cannot accept it back. Safe shipping back to us is your responsibility. Having said that our mission is to try and ensure customers never have to return anything, and describe everything to the best of our ability, and try to include an image of everything for sale. If you want a larger or a higher resolution image ask, and it will be published on a temporary web page.
