valuable service rendered with the British forces in the Balkans.
Purvis was from Choppington in Northumberland. MIC: 'George Selby
Purvis' first theatre France 4/7/1915. MSM Card confirms Salonica
theatre. The unusual rank/appointment confirmed in writing by the
Engineers museum is 'Shoeing Smith Corporal and Carriage Smith'.
