With copy roll, on which his initial appears to be written as 'T' rather than 'J', but also included is the 1st Battalion QSA roll which shows him as J. Kelly with a few others from the 2nd Battalion apparently arriving as a late draft to the 1st Bn. (5th March 1902). Pair of medals one is broken India Medal 1896-1902, three clasps, Punjab Frontier 1897-98, Samana 1897, Tirah 1897-98; GV Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal first named to Asstt. Surgn. W.W. Stuart I.S.M.D (a couple of letters are corrected), and the Long Service medal:- 1st Cl. Asst. Surgn. W.W. Stuart I.S.M.D. (Indian Subordinate Medical Department). Both medals named in engraved running script. A delightful pair of medals to an Assistant Surgeon but sadly the India Medal is broken at the swivel so needs to be repaired. NEF SOLD |

Pair of Medals, Queen's South Africa Medal 1899-1902, three clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Belfast. King's South Africa Medal 1901-02, usual two clasps: 1044 Sapr A. Gaymer R.E. Included are some documents on CD disk including service papers: Arthur Gaymer, aged 19, attested Woolwich, 17 July 1897. Born Deptford, Kent, an iron moulder by trade. Served 12th, 26th and 9th Companies, transferred to the Army Reserve 16th July 1905, and discharged 16th July 1909. Served 5 years 95 days in South Africa; 8/11/99 – 10/2/05. Medals and clasps confirmed on service papers. Copy of the 1911 Census shows Gaymer, (Full name 'Arthur George Gaymer') an Iron Moulder working for the Great Western Railways, living at 12 Williamson Avenue Peterborough, with his wife and daughter. Also copy of the BMD Death index showing Gaymer died in the 1st Quarter of 1971. Some minor bruises. SOLD |
