     Instituted 11th January 1958 For award to personnel with a minimum of three months service in North Africa ( Algeria Tunisia and Morocco.)1
   
Description: 30mm diameter in bronze (sometimes gilt finish) Obverse same as the Colonial Medal. Reverse; two types - first with the inscription " MEDAILLE COMMEMORATIVE OPERATIONS SECURITE ET MAINTIEN DE L'ORDRE" and another version "MEDAILLE COMMEMORATIVE D'AFRIQUE DU NORD" within an oak and laurel wreath.
