Malta Mounted Infantry.
The 3rd battalion the Lancashire Fusiliers contributed a section to the 144 total strength of the "Malta Mounted Infantry" together with 3rd Royal Warwickshire Regiment, 2nd Loyal North Lancashire Regiment and 2nd Derbyshire Regiment. This unit later joined the 9th Battalion Mounted Infantry.
